2. Enable all disconnected recording devices

  • On your computer, right-click on the "Speaker" icon that you can find at the rightmost part of your taskbar and choose "Open Sound Settings."
  • Next, under the "Sound" window, click the "Manage sound devices" on the "Input" section to find all the audio devices connected on your computer.
  • Click the device to check if it's activated. If not, just tick the "Enable" button.
  • To ensure that your mic is enabled and can record voice, adjust the volume, and speak on your mic to see if the indicator is moving up. If yes, then you can start recording audio on Audacity.

Step 1 Install the Audacity Alternative
